Residents living in a southwest Calgary community were shocked to see some unusual wildlife wandering through their neighbourhood on Wednesday.

Officials received a call around 7:30 a.m. from a resident in the community of Lakeview.

Originally the caller, living in the 3100 Block of Leduc Crescent, thought she had spotted a cougar and two cubs in her yard.

However, Alberta Fish and Wildlife say the animal is a Bobcat, out with her two baby cubs.

Officials say the animals are very shy, and pose little threat to humans.
