UPDATE July 12, 2016: CoCo was found safe and sound and returned to her owners on Monday afternoon.
A four-year-old toy poodle named CoCo was stolen in broad daylight yesterday outside a popular shopping mall.
It happened at approximately 5:50 p.m. in the Lougheed Mall parking lot. CoCo was in a dog carrier, while her owner was putting groceries in her vehicle.
According to Burnaby RCMP, “an unknown male in a silver 4-door Honda Civic grabbed the dog carrier with the dog inside, then sped off toward the Lougheed SkyTrain Station.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 20s with blonde hair. There was also a female in the passenger seat of the suspect’s car.
The dog’s owner says Coco weighs about 2.5 kilograms, has a very short tail, and limps on her back leg.
Burnaby RCMP are investigating and have received surveillance footage of the theft. They’re asking the public to help them find the people responsible.
