A mushroom soup that’s sold in Nova Scotia has been recalled due to the risk of botulism.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says Verano Food Purveyors mushroom soup is being pulled from the shelves because during routine testing it was found the soup “may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum,” the bacteria that causes botulism.

The soup affected, sold in 500 ml and one-litre glass jars, has a best before date of July 19 written on the bottom of the jars.
