2 people in custody following overnight Calgary stabbings

Calgary police are investigating two separate overnight stabbings which happened about four hours apart.

The first was in the community of Saddleridge at about 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers were called to a home along Saddlelake Place N.E. where they found one man suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.

The investigation led police to a home in the community of Temple, where one woman was taken into custody following a short standoff.

Police said the incident is believed to be domestic-related violence.

Later, at around 2:30 a.m., police were called to a home along Shawfield Court S.W. for reports of a stabbing.

EMS said woman in her late 30s was transported to hospital in stable but non-life threatening condition with traumatic injuries.

One man was taken into custody by police.
