“I was just dumbfounded. Who does that? Who leaves money and a note behind? Who does that?” Miller told CBS 4 in Indianapolis.

According to the TV station, the thief left a note on a US$20 bill saying “Stole your pants Felt sorry about it[sic]” along with an additional US$5 bill.

Miller said she appreciates the gesture but said the money and apology don’t make up for the thief stealing pants that she spent a lot of time searching for online.

“I had been searching for weeks for this certain pair, this certain pattern. I was excited when I got the shipment notice and came back and no pants,” Miller told CBS 4.

Miller is keeping an eye out for anyone wearing the same pants she ordered.

However, she’s holding out hope the thief will still return her pants.
