Students in Wood Buffalo will have even more time to pay off loans

The Alberta government announced Monday that students in the Wood Buffalo region who were affected by the wildfires will be given another extension to pay off their student loans.

In early May the provincial government announced affected borrowers would have until Nov. 30, 2016 to have their loans covered.

Advanced Education Minister Marlin Schmidt said in a press release Monday, the deferral of repayment and interest-free period will now extend to March 1, 2017.

More than 700 students will be able to take advantage of this.
