Two pet dogs have died in a Saskatoon house fire.
Firefighters were alerted to the fire just after noon-hour Friday when they received a report of a residential fire signal at 2322 Ewart Avenue.
A minute later, a 911 call came in saying smoke was coming from the home.

Three engine companies, an aerial apparatus and a medium rescue truck were dispatched.
Crews arrived at the single-storey Holliston neighbourhood home to find smoke coming from the chimney and the rear of the house.
An aggressive fire attack was started and the fire was discovered in the basement, which had extended to the exterior of the house and the attic.
It took firefighter approximately 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No one was home at the time, however two pet dogs died in the fire.
The investigation into the cause of the fire continues. There is no damage estimate at this time.
