Canadians are usually depicted as the “nice” characters on film, but in the case of Disney’s The BFG, all five Canadian cast members are bad guys, and they’re all giants.
Gizzardgulper (Chris Gibbs), Bonecruncher (Daniel Bacon), Meatdripper (Paul Moniz de Sa), Childchewer (Jonathan Holmes) and Butcher Boy (Michael David Adamthwaite) are just as horrid and child-hungry as they sound.

They’re brought to life using motion-capture, and it’s truly a feat of special effects how realistic they look as they stumble over themselves trying to get their hands on “human beans” to eat.
Global News spoke to the five guys just before the Canadian premiere, and they talked about what it was like working with Steven Spielberg, how they got to select their voices, and how much fun it was to be the big baddies of the film.
