TORONTO – An almost 500 pound bust of Mayor Rob Ford – made completely of butter – was unveiled at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto on Friday.
The sculpture, that’s sure to make some say “I can’t believe it’s butter,” was made by Toronto-based artist Olenka Kleban, who says the sculpture is an “observation.”
“If anything, all I did, I just emphasized what’s already there. I put a few stories together in one sculpture,” Kleban said. “It just brings back attention to the fact that Rob Ford is our mayor and these are some things that Rob Ford has been up to and these are some things that Rob Ford has emphasized himself.”

The sculpture portrays the mayor reading a book by Margaret Atwood while leaning on a car steering wheel.
It took Kleban six days and just under 500 pounds of butter to create the buttery bust as part of the CNE’s annual butter exhibition.
While the sculpture may carry some negative connotations, Kleban says she does agree with the mayor about on some issues. Calling herself a “blue-collar girl,” she told Global News she agreed with the Mayor after he publically cut up free tickets he was given to the CNE, saying they were an example of the gravy he’s out to rid from the city.
The theme for the butter exhibition though was “under the deep blue sea,” but Kleban said “it was just so hard not to make a sculpture of Rob Ford.”
