Saskatoon artist enters Vincent van Gogh lookalike contest

Friends are always telling Kim Ennis how much he looks like Vincent van Gogh. So when a friends suggested he enter the I am Vincent worldwide search for
Vincent van Gogh’s lookalike, he had no hesitation.

“I said ‘that’s me!’ I’ve been Vincent for a long time,” Ennis said in Saskatoon on Saturday.

“There are even people who call me Vincent.”

The contest is put on by Vancouver-based artist Douglas Coupland. Once a winner is selected, their face will be 3D scanned and made into a bronze sculpture.

Ennis, who is an artist himself, said he’s always been fascinated by Van Gogh. He added that even if he isn’t chosen to be the official van Gogh look alike, the process has been a great experience.

He adds he’s getting a warm response from “people maybe who I haven’t heard from in a while, sending me messages saying I’ve always thought you looked like Vincent.”
