WINNIPEG — Commuters across Winnipeg swapped their vehicles for bicycles on the launch of Bike to Work Day on Friday.
The annual event is put on by Bike Week Winnipeg and encourages all commuters to grab their bike and ride to work.
CAA Manitoba and Bike Week Winnipeg have teamed up to provide pit stops throughout the city to help cyclists with tire and chain repairs.
Erika Miller from CAA Manitoba told CJOB 680, if you’re planning to ride your bike, make sure you are visible to drivers.
“Be predictable and visible,” Miller said. “Bright colours and reflective clothing can definitely be a life-saver, especially in the early morning or at night.”
