KINGSTON, Ont. – Police say a 46-year-old Kingston, Ont., woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting her female roommate with a piece of exercise equipment.
Officers went to a Kingston home early Wednesday to investigate a report that the accused was becoming confrontational with the 39-year-old alleged victim, but found no evidence of assault.
An hour later, police were called back to the home, where they discovered the 39-year-old bleeding from a head wound.
Investigators say she’d been hit with a piece of exercise equipment – a braided rope with a metal carabiner and ring on both ends.
The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of minor wounds.
The 46-year-old woman was arrested and is charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
