A dad from Oklahoma delivered his own baby when his wife couldn’t make it to the hospital in time.
Paramedics coached Arthur Watson over the phone, while his daughter Aja was unexpectedly making her debut.
“It was a surreal experience to say the least,” Watson told News 9, a Global News affiliate.
His wife Shawanda Watson woke up before dawn one day last week, in full labour. There was no time to get to the hospital.

“I woke up around 4:30 and I hear, ‘I think the baby’s coming, I think the baby’s coming,'” Watson said.
So with a call to 911, Watson sprang into action, getting step-by-step instructions from paramedics.
While on the phone with Oklahoma City emergency services, Watson is asked to check for signs of breathing.
“Sir, can you hear me?” the dispatcher said.
“Yeah, the baby’s coming out,” Watson said.
“The baby’s coming out?” dispatch said. “Is the baby crying or breathing?”
“Crying and breathing,” Watson said.
The Watsons — and the new addition to the family — have had a chance to meet the dispatcher and paramedic who were on the phone.
“It’s a blessing,” Shawanda Watson said. “I’m glad she’s here and she’s OK.”
