Evacuation alerts rescinded for Two Mile, Swansea Point

In June, a flash flood devastated communities in the Shuswap. The communities of Swansea Point and Two Mile subdivision have been on alert ever since. But on Friday, the evacuation alerts for those communities were finally rescinded.

The Shuswap Emergency Program rescinded the alerts at Hummingbird Creek in Swansea Point and Sicamous Creek in Two Mile since the snowpack has depleted and there is no indication of heavy rain.

Officials will monitor the weather and take appropriate measures if necessary.
