Winnipeg Jets announce home opener

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets started the process of releasing their 2016-17 schedule on Monday.

The Jets and the other 29 NHL teams announced the dates of their home openers in the fall.

The Jets will host the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, October 13 at MTS Centre. The Jets will also play in the Minnesota Wild’s home opener two days later. The Wild will welcome the Jets to the Xcel Energy Center on Saturday, October 15.

The NHL regular season will begin on October 12. The rest of the NHL schedule is expected to be released on Tuesday. The league will hold its annual NHL draft on Friday where the Jets hold the number two pick.
