HBO announced Tuesday that hit show Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring Larry David, will be returning to the channel for a ninth season.
“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming.

Asked why he decided to return to the beloved TV series, David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.'”

The comedy, which originally started in 2000, stars David as a hyperbolic version of himself in an unflinching depiction of his day-to-day life. With 80 existing episodes, it is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series.
There’s no word yet on a Season 9 premiere date.
