Police are investigating after three pitbulls attacked four people at a Surrey home this afternoon.
It happened shortly before 2 p.m. at a property on Loughren Drive. Multiple ambulances, police cars, and Surrey Animal Control were quickly dispatched to the scene.
“My understanding was that the dogs started to fight originally and the owners were trying to break that dog fight up and that’s how they got injured,” said Jas Rehal, Surrey Bylaw Enforcement Manager.
Two people were transported to hospital in stable condition.

Rehal says the pitbulls were seized by animal control, and that the circumstances of the incident are unusual.
“This is a very rare incident where, inside the house, the dog and the owners all know each other, very rare that something like this happens.”
The dogs were registered, and the City of Surrey will sit down with their owners in the coming days to determine next steps.
“Once the owners are feeling a bit better, we’ll sit down with them and figure out what we have to do and get a better handle on things,” says Rehal.
