IKEA’s iconic blue and yellow FRAKTA shopping bag is getting redesigned with a neutral makeover.
The Swedish furniture giant announced Wednesday they are collaborating with Danish design company HAY to “explore the future Scandinavian design identity.”
That identity includes redesigning the classic $1 shopping bag into a toned down white and forest green.
Some original FRAKTA fans seemed to take offense to the news.

However a spokesperson for IKEA told Global News that the redesigned bag won’t be completely replacing the original bag.
The company said the IKEAxHAY collaboration will be a long-term collection and will be available in addition to their regular line for at least a year.
The collection will include a chair in a similar forest green hue, a coffee table, bench and desk lamp.
It will be launched in the fall of 2017.
