Crews were called to North Vancouver Friday morning to fight a massive house fire.

It happened overnight on Blueridge Avenue.

The fire started in the garage but quickly spread to the front of the home.

Neighbours say they heard a loud noise right before the fire, which they believe may have been a welding project gone wrong. They were quickly evacuated from their homes as a safety precaution but the flames did not spread to any other structures.

Fortunately, no one was hurt and crews were able to contain the blaze in less that an hour.
