Body of missing man found in northern Saskatchewan

The search for a missing man in northern Saskatchewan has ended.

Mounties say the body of William (Billy) Taylor, 36, was located Thursday morning near Potato Island on Lac La Ronge.

Taylor was reported missing after he was last seen on Dec. 17, 2015 leaving Fox Point on a snowmobile.

He was heading to La Ronge.

Police say Taylor’s body was found by local searchers from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in the vicinity where it was thought he had fallen through the ice.

An autopsy has been scheduled but foul play is not considered a factor.
