KELOWNA, B.C. – They’re just one step closer to the PGA.
More than 150 golfers from around the world are in Kelowna for the first GolfBC Championship.
The Mackenzie Tour is a step on the path to the PGA TOUR.
Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club is hosting the event June 9-12.
The B.C. Cancer Foundation is the benefiting charity.
Players who received sponsor exemptions for the inaugural GolfBC Championship include Summerland’s Greg Machtaler, Chase Koepka, brother of PGA TOUR player Brooks Koepka, David Rose from the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica, Washington State’s Jacqueline Bendrick, UCLA graduate Lorens Chan, Okanagan Golf Club golf pro Conner Kozak, Gallagher’s Canyon golf pro John Mlikotic, and PGA Germany’s Chris Trunzer.
The eight players have a chance to win the $175,000 prize playing against young professional golfers from around the world.
Spectator passes are $10 a day at the gate, $25 event passes can be purchased at .
