Demolition finally began Wednesday night on Edmonton’s old Cromdale Hotel.
The Cromdale has been closed for years and is considered an eye sore by many residents .

Demolition eventually had to be halted Wednesday evening because of bad weather, but was expected to resume sometime Thursday.
It should be complete by the end of the day.
The site will eventually be home to a new Shoppers Drug Mart.
