WINNIPEG — For the first time in over six years, performers and pilots will light up the sky at the Southport Airport in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba for the 2016 Manitoba Airshow.
The goal of the event is to get others interested in aviation, through both interactive and in-air displays.
The first air display — the Canadian Forces (CF) Skyhawks — will take place at noon, with the CF Snowbirds ascending to the skies at 3:30 p.m. to close out the show
Other activities throughout the day include a C130 Hercules search and rescue demo, as well as a performance from Anna Serbinenko, a class 1 aerobatic instructor.
Olympian, and Globalnews.ca blogger, Jill Officer had the chance to fly with the Snowbird.
Ticket prices start at $10 with children under 12 getting in for free. More information, including a complete schedule, can be found on the Manitoba Air Show’s website here.
