Get your beach umbrella ready! There is a stretch of hot, sunny and dry weather on the way for most of British Columbia this weekend.
Global BC chief meteorologist Mark Madryga says a substantial high-pressure ridge from the Western United States is building rapidly northward into British Columbia.
“While it will be a warm Friday afternoon in most of Southern B.C., the building ridge will draw much hotter air into the province on Saturday and Sunday,” says Madryga.
“These values are similar to the all-time highs for this time of year, so a number of high temperature records are likely to be broken,” says Madryga.
The heat will also move into the Central B.C. Interior, although temperatures there will peak in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees.
Temperatures will fall a few degrees on Monday, but conditions will remain warm and dry.
