Holly Wilton has battled three different kinds of cancer and now she has the chance to embark on an enjoyable journey this August. The 46-year-old mother of three will have her wildest dream of travelling through the Maritimes on a Harley Davidson come true.

Wilton, who is this year’s first recipient of the Cameco Touchdown for Dreams program, was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2008.

Doctors would later discover a tumour near her bowel in 2013 and after numerous surgeries, radiation treatments and chemotherapy sessions, she is now being treated for liver cancer.

Her husband John has also been diagnosed with cancer.

“It’s just kind of a release to get away from everything,” said Wilton.

“This year hasn’t been great but it will be just a stress relief, get away and just enjoy a ride, see different country. We’re every much into history so seeing all the history on the East Coast will be kind of cool too.”

Wilton only has two treatments left and the couple plans on taking the trip in August.

Since its inception, the program has granted 26 wishes in the last four years to women diagnosed with life-threatening cancer.
