Man assaulted with weapon in downtown Regina

A 23-year-old man was seriously injured after an assault involving a weapon early Monday morning in Regina.

Police were called to 2100 block of Broad Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. where they found the man injured outside and near the Selam Ethiopian Restaurant & Hooka Lounge.

According to police, the injuries were consistent with an assault with a weapon.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and police are still investigating the incident.

There was a similar incident in the same area last month, where a 24-year-old man was assaulted at the same restaurant and nightclub on April 29.
