WINNIPEG — Police are searching for two teens after two female staff members at the Behavioural Health Foundation in St. Andrews were attacked and robbed Sunday night.

RCMP say both employees of the addiction centre for teens were seriously injured in the attack.

One of the victims, Jackie Healey was messaging her sister on Facebook the evening of the attack.

“She that she was afraid of them,” Jamie Healey told Global News in a phone interview. “One boy was walking around with a bat, he was taunting her.”

Jamie Healey said when her sister didn’t come home, she knew something was wrong.

“I thought she was dead. I hadn’t heard from her through facebook, text messages, her phone was off, her vehicle was gone.”

Jean Douchey is the executive director of the Behavioural Health Foundation and says staff are ‘reeling’ with the news two of their own have been hurt.

“It’s a very serious incident, the most serious in our history, and our hearts go out to these women,” Douchey said. “Our condolences go out to their families.”

Police say the two suspects, 16 and 17-years-old, were residents at the centre, on Breezy Point Road.

“Our officers have been dedicating their efforts to locate the two suspects since the incident.” Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP wrote in a news release. “We are asking for assistance in locating these two individuals and remind the public not to approach the suspects if observed.”

RCMP say weapons were used in the attack and a truck belonging to one of the victims allegedly used in the getaway.

Monday afternoon, RCMP confirmed the blue 2014 F-150 pickup truck was located in Winnipeg but the suspects remain at large.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local Police Service or call Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

Earlier this month the director of Behavioral Health Foundation told Global News the centre for teens at both it’s St. Andrews and St. Norbert’s location was closing due to funding challenges.
