The car, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, is owned by Scenic Rush, a company that rents the Lamborghini and other high-end vehicles for day trips along the Sea-to-Sky Highway.
Scenic Rush co-owner Thom Boecker said a client was driving the vehicle, but was uninjured.
“It looked pretty serious, but it was a pretty minor collision. We don’t know what caused it to burst into flames,” he said.

Boecker added that it was the first accident in the company’s three years in operation.
Marshall Mills, who was in a car behind the Lamborghini when the accident happened, said the driver should have been going slower.
“The conditions out there were horrible,” he said.
“It was like a monsoon at the time of the incident. We were in a BMW X3 with brand new tires…it was not safe to be driving that kind of horsepower.”
Traffic was reopened on Highway 99 shortly after 5 p.m.
