We’re always hearing how dangerous sharks are during summer but that didn’t stop these beachgoers helping a tiger shark in need.

According to NBC News, the shark washed up with two fishing hooks in its mouth on a beach on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

As the swimmers risked their safety to remove the hooks, the shark attempted to attack one of the helpers.

When they were finally able to remove the hooks, they released the shark back into the ocean without anyone getting hurt.
