Crash between motorcycle and truck west of Edmonton leaves 1 dead

A 57-year-old died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck on the highway north of Stony Plain on Saturday.

RCMP said it happened on Highway 16A at Range Road 11 at 6:50 p.m.

Officers said a westbound motorcycle collided with a Ford F150 that was heading onto the highway. RCMP said it appeared the truck was trying to cross the highway when the collision happened.

The 57-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to hospital where he died.

The woman driving the truck suffered minor injuries and has been charged with failing to proceed safely.
