BALGONIE, Sask. – People in Saskatchewan are abuzz about the high number of tornadoes that have touched down in the province.
Environment Canada confirms that five twisters touched down briefly Tuesday in rural areas.
Meteorologist Louis Kohanyi says they included two separate tornadoes near Balgonie, and others near Southey, Fillmore and Grenfell.
There is no official word on the strength of the twisters.
There were no injuries but people are reporting damage to farm buildings.
Saskatchewan usually sees about 12 tornadoes a year.
