Surrey RCMP look for help identifying suspect in sexual assault of realtor

RCMP are asking for help identifying a suspect in the sexual assault of a realtor in Surrey last month.

A video released by police shows the suspect crossing the street after the attack that took place on April 30.

The assault happened during an open house at a home near 128th Street and 92nd Avenue.

Fortunately, the female realtor was able to fight the man off.

A newly released photo shows the suspect running northbound on 128th Street immediately after the incident. Meanwhile, the surveillance video captured the suspect heading westbound on 92nd Avenue.

The man is described as South Asian, in his late 20s to mid 40s, 5’5” to 5’8” tall, with brown eyes and a dark brown well-groomed beard. He was wearing dark-coloured pants, a light-coloured shirt, a light grey jacket and a white turban. He spoke with an accent.

Surrey RCMP have liaised with their real estate partners to ensure that safeguards are in place to help protect their employees. These include taking precautions and having a buddy system. More information is available for realtors through the British Columbia Real Estate Association’s website.
