Family and friends of a young man who killed himself last week gathered outside Burnaby Hospital Monday night.
Eddie Young took his own life just hours after he was released from the facility.
His mother dropped him off at the hospital over fears for his mental health. She says she asked staff to call her after they assessed him but he was released without her knowledge and given a bus ticket.

Less than an hour later he jumped off a bridge at the Commercial SkyTrain Station.
Fraser Health says it is looking into the treatment he received but that’s little comfort to his friends and family.
“Anyone of us sisters would have come and picked up Eddie,” said his aunt Poppy Swannell. “But they gave him a bus ticket, that is one thing that needs to change.”
