NEAR OYAMA — B.C. Wildfire Service crews are working to put out a forest fire in the hills near Oyama.
Fire Information Officer Ryan Turcot says the fire is about three kilometres west of Oyama.
Turcot says seven wildfire service personnel are working in steep terrain to contain and mop up the fire, which is estimated to be one-and-a-half hectares.
Two initial attack crews responded to the scene as well as one RCMP officer.
Turcot says early indications are that the fire was lightning-caused; he says the fire started on Saturday.
There are no reports of injuries.
