Edmonton fire crews battle blaze in Mill Creek Ravine

EDMONTON – About 20 firefighters were called to battle a blaze in the Mill Creek Ravine around 5 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Fire officials said it took about 20 minutes for crews to get the flames under control and reminded the public there is currently a province-wide fire ban.

“It’s quite dry and so obviously we’re telling the public to be very careful,” Edmonton Fire and Rescue District Chief Patrick Lucki said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
