KELOWNA–It took a foot chase, but Kelowna RCMP managed to catch a suspect accused of assaulting a police officer.
The incident happened early this morning when the female officer approached the 19 year-old suspect in the downtown area.
Police say the man was carrying a loaded syringe.
The officer tried to arrest the suspect, but he resisted and took off on foot.
With the officer in pursuit, the suspect allegedly pepper sprayed the officer.
The suspect was found hiding in a hedge where he was taken into custody.
He’s now facing several charges including resisting arrest.
