Police are asking for help identifying a car caught on dash cam as it blew through a red light outside a Markham high school while going the wrong way, nearly hitting two vehicles.
York Regional Police say the Toyota Corolla sped through the intersection during lunch hour on April 18 in front of Brother Andre Catholic High School on 16th Avenue, east of Markham Road.
In footage uploaded to YouTube, two westbound vehicles with an open lane between them are stopped at the light, as two girls holding pizza walk on the adjacent sidewalk.
The speeding car then comes out of nowhere from the opposite direction, zipping through the narrow gap before disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Police described it as a beige or grey four-door Corolla, and are asking for the public’s help identifying it and its occupants.
