Calgary officer’s missing pistol magazine and ammunition found in police office

Calgary police say a missing magazine from a service pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition that disappeared last week have been located.

The District 8 officer was on duty when he noticed one of the magazine carriers on his belt was open and the loaded magazine had fallen out.

Although officers searched the areas where the magazine may have fallen, they were unable to find it.

On Monday, police revealed the missing items were located in the District 8 office.

“While the lost magazine posed minimal risk to the public without a firearm, police needed to ensure that it was secure and could not be used in the commission of a crime,” a police news release stated.
