A Calgary man charged with the murder of his common-law wife will stand trial in spring of 2017.
Allan Shyback, 39, faces charges of second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a body in connection to the death of Lisa Michelle Mitchell.
Mitchell was a 31-year-old mother of two. She was last seen alive at her Ogden home in Oct. 2012.
Police said they found human remains inside the home Shyback shared with Mitchell. He was arrested and charged more than two years after Mitchell’s disappearance, in Dec. 2014.
On Friday, a date was set for Shyback’s trial. It is expected to last nine days and begins in May 2017.
