WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – Hundreds of BCHL West Kelowna Warrior fans came out to meet the 2016 Fred Page Cup champions Monday afternoon and give the team a send-off to the Western Canada Cup (WCC).
Fans both young and old gathered to blow horns, shake clappers and simply celebrate the young players who led the Warriors to victory on Saturday.
Many West Kelowna hockey fans have held seasons tickets for a decade despite falling short of playoffs year after year.
The Warriors travel to Estevan, Saskatchewan for their first game against the Estevan Bruins Saturday, April 30 at 6 p.m. PDT (7 p.m. CDT).
On Sunday the Warriors play the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL.
