RCMP were called to the scene of Highway 627 between Range Road 271 and 272 around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning after a gravel truck and a pickup truck collided head-on.

The driver of the pickup truck was declared dead at the scene, while the other driver was taken to the Westview Health Centre in Stony Plain.
The name of the driver who was killed is not being released as family is being notified.
The collision is under investigation.
