Ahead of the Hands-On Cook-Off, Claire Newell and her son Grant share a straightforward pasta recipe
Ingredients
500 gram dry spaghetti
12 oz (25-30) cherry tomatoes, halved (mixed colours if possible)
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 – 4 gloves of garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 sprigs basil (+ more for garnish)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4.5 cups of filtered water or chicken stock
Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, add all ingredients over high-heat
2. Once boiling, stir and turn pasta frequently for about 9-10 minutes
3. Top with parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and fresh basil
