Bobbi Jo Parks left the Fort Macleod court house Wednesday with no decision on whether she is guilty or not guilty on charges of obstruction of a police officer.
“As it turns out the court raised some issues that relate to the criminal responsibility of this person on the basis of the information that was given to the court. The accused is reconsidering entering a plea today,”says Clayton Giles, the Crown Prosecutor on the case.
The charges were laid in connection with the murder of Vulcan senior Otto Bunty Loose in January.
Parks common law husband Timmy Engel was charged with first degree murder and indignity to a human body.

On Wednesday Parks initially pleaded guilty to obstruction of a police officer after she says 3 officers came knocking on her door in Claresholm looking for Timmy Engel.
But on Wednesday, Parks told the judge that she lied to police when she said Engle wasn’t home, when in fact he was upstairs.

“There was a guilty plea entered but the facts put before the courts put some concern before the judges eyes that if it constitutes an offence. In Canada it’s not an offence for people to tell lies you can lie to your employer that you were sick and really you were going golfing and it’s not an offense to lie to police.”
Bobbi Jo Parks told the court that police officers allegedly never told her why they were at her house looking for Timmy Engel on the evening of January 11th, 2012.
“It’s only an offense to lie to police if they clearly indicate to you that they are there for a specific reason and they use the key words are the execution if their duty,” says Dietrich.
In a bizarre twist, Bobbi Joe Parks’ guilty plea was withdrawn because the Judge had doubt on the facts presented in Parks plea.
Dietrich says this is one of those cases where the judge stepped in and said “I’m not going to convict her on these facts. ”
Bobbi Joe Parks is expected to make a plea next Wednesday.
