HALIFAX – Halifax police have withdrawn two criminal charges against a man accused of taking part in a fatal shooting at a Halifax apartment in May.
The shooting claimed the life of one man and wounded another.
Police say 27-year-old Simon Peter Dugas of Halifax was originally charged with first-degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Corey Lucas.
He was also charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 31-year-old man.
However, police announced Wednesday that the two charges have been withdrawn and a new charge of accessory after the fact has been laid.
Last month, another man was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder and a woman was charged with accessory after the fact.
