Advance voting numbers up in Manitoba

WINNIPEG — Manitoba voters will have to wait until Tuesday to cast their ballot, as advance voting is officially closed.

More than 109,000 voters took advantage of early bird voting, which ran from April 9 until Saturday.

According to Elections Manitoba, in 2011 78,000 people cast their ballot during advance voting, which is about a 38 per cent increase.

The top three popular locations in 2016 were St. Vital Centre, Winnipeg Square and Kildonan Place, according to Elections Manitoba.

If you haven’t voted yet, polls are open on election day Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can find out more about where to vote and I.D. requirements on the Elections Manitoba website.
