PRINCETON — UPDATE 10 P.M. A crew from B.C. Hydro rescued Miss Kitty Thursday evening before dusk and reunited the cat with owner Bill Elliott.
A cat in Princeton, B.C. has been stuck at the top of a hydro pole since Monday.
The power pole is in Fortis BC’s service area but is property of BC Hydro.
According to BC Hydro staff, the pole is approximately 60 feet tall and connects live high voltage wires, meaning only a crew with specialized equipment can rescue the cat.

The stranded feline has received all sorts of social media attention.
Natalia Bosley, who spotted the cat a few days ago, posted a plea to Facebook asking people to call BC Hydro, in hopes the social media outcry would prompt the company to send someone to help bring the cat to safety.
Since then the hashtag #savethePrincetonBCcat exploded on Twitter, with users also pleading for the cat’s rescue.
Even Okanagan-Coquihalla MP Dan Albas weighed in, trying to get the cat to safety.
BC Hydro has confirmed a crew from Salmon Arm is en route to rescue the cat.
Fortis BC has also offered its services.
The BC Hydro is expected to arrive on scene by 5:30 p.m.
