Four charged in Saskatoon cocaine bust

SASKATOON – A police investigation into cocaine trafficking in Saskatoon has ended with the arrest of four people. Police say they originally spotted what was believed to be a drug transaction taking place Tuesday in the area of 3rd Street East and Preston Avenue.

Two men were arrested.

That lead to police searching an apartment in the 300-block of Kingsmere Boulevard, where two more men were arrested.

In total, police say they seized 6.11 grams of cocaine packaged for distribution, 34 grams of cannabis and over $25,000 in cash.

A 30-year-old man arrested at the apartment is facing charges of possession of marijuana, obstruction, possession of false identity documents and possession of the proceeds of crime. He was scheduled to make his second appearance in Saskatoon provincial court on Thursday morning.

A 33-year-old man who was also arrested at the apartment is facing charges of possession of marijuana, obstruction and possession of proceeds of crime. He is scheduled to make his second appearance Friday morning.

A 23-year-old man is facing charges of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of proceeds of crime and possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to make his second appearance Friday morning.

A 57-year-old man is facing a charge of possession of cocaine. He will make his second appearance in Saskatoon provincial court on May 10.
