MONTREAL – The Quebec government is investing $4 billion in a new energy policy.
Premier Philiippe Couillard made the announcement Thursday in Montreal.
By 2030, the government aims to reduce the amount of oil used by 40 per cent.
Renewable energy that people use would be increased to 61 per cent from 47 per cent right now.
A new government agency will be created to help people and businesses adapt.
Quebec has already promised to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 37.5 per cent by 2030.
