MONTREAL — For the last few weeks, a Montreal taxi driver has been using a different approach to show his anger over ride-sharing service Uber.

Hassan Kattoua – also known as the Taxi Sheriff – has started wearing army pants, a black jacket and a red baseball cap.

It’s an outfit that emulates what Montreal police have been wearing since 2014 to protest pension reforms.

Kattoua is being accused of the following:

  • impersonating a police officer

  • intimidating a member of the justice system

The self-proclaimed Taxi Sheriff met with investigators Tuesday following an incident last week where he alleged yelled at a police officer for refusing to arrest an Uber driver.
