SASKATOON – People in Saskatoon have been debating the idea of a downtown arena for years. Now, the debate is fuelled by the aging SaskTel Centre.

Saskatoon Tourism is lobbying to have amenities improved at SaskTel Centre and boost the economy in the area. The director of industry development and sport also brought the idea of putting aside land downtown for a future sports arena in the development of the City of Saskatoon’s “Growth Plan to Half a Million”.
